'Britain's Got Talent' final watched by 10.6m on ITV

The final of Britain's Got Talent topped the ratings on Saturday (June 8) with 10.56m, overnight data suggests.

An average of 48.9% of the available audience saw Attraction win the competition and Simon Cowell pelted with eggs. The show peaked at 11.5m, while a further 556k (2.7%) caught up on ITV+1.

The ratings were down on last year's final, which brought in 11.9m (peak 13.8m) but up on 2011.

Later on ITV, the second episode of US thriller The Americans had 1.83m (10.6%) at 10pm, down slightly on its debut.

Over on BBC One, Casualty attracted 2.92m (12.6%) at 9.15pm and 1996 movie The Rock picked up 2.11m (18.1%) an hour later.

BBC Two aired coverage of Rugby Union from 7.30pm until 10pm, appealing to 1m (4.7%). Documentary History of the Eagles followed with 910k (6.6%). However, both were beaten by a repeat of Dad's Army, which scored 1.82m (11.6%) at 7pm.

Channel 4 showed political conspiracy thriller The Ghost, starring Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan, from 9pm, bringing in 540k viewers (3%).

Elsewhere, Channel 5 aired a triple bill of NCIS from 7pm, scoring 520k (3%), 677k (3.3%) and 754k (3.3%). International Boxing then grabbed 807k from 9.30pm.

Britain's Got More Talent was the highest rated show on the multichannels, pulling in 1.23m (3.9%) on ITV2 at 10pm.
