"This is a local shop, for local people. There's nothing for you here!"

It's been over a decade since The League of Gentlemen came to an end on the BBC after three incredibly dark and incredibly funny series. It's been eight years since we finally bid farewell to the show's characters in the bonkers movie spin-off Apocalypse.

However, one of the show's creators Reece Shearsmith gave hope to the show's fans yesterday that there might be a reunion on the cards, tweeting a picture of three of the show's writers (or is it possibly four?) posing together.

Digital Spy presents you five reasons why the League of Gentlemen comeback must happen.

1. We still need the rest of the rules for Go Johnny Go Go Go Go...

We know it's "a cross between Hoover and 8 Men Down", but we're still a little in the dark as to rules on the wildcards.

2. Papa Lazarou still needs to find Dave.

The circus travelling, blackfaced, wife-stealing, peg-selling Papa Lazarou is one the creepiest TV characters ever created. His appearance in the League of Gentlemen Christmas special still gives us the heebie-jeebies.

Despite his scary qualities, we'd love to have Papa back. Did he ever find Dave?

3. Creme Brulee need to reform

You must remember Creme Brulee. They almost signed to Pickwick in '81. Eurovision heats. Same year as Bucks Fizz. They had the unreleased albums Just Desserts and Another Helping. Even if you don't remember the smash hits of Les McQueen's band, it would take a cold-hearted individual to prevent a comeback. But then again, it is a s**t business.

4. We need a catch-up with Legz Akimbo

Whatever happened to Oliver Plimsoles, Dave Parkes and Phil Proctor (aka Legz Akimbo - Put Yourself in a Child!), the travelling theatre company trio? We'd love to revisit their seminal works 'Everybody Out!', 'Vegetable Soup' and 'No Home 4 Johnny'.

5. We miss Pamelo Doove.

"Eskeewd beef! Have anybody got any bokkle oran doove?" Pamela Doove was an actress ahead of her time. She was in many ways the '90s Jennifer Lawrence. Hopefully that infamous orange juice commercial has lead to huge success around the world.
