Taking to Twitter yesterday (October 30), Corden thanked fans for their support of the series and suggested that we would see more of the show's main characters Sam (Baynton) and Phil (Corden) in the future.

He tweeted: "Waking up to so many incredible messages about The Wrong Mans. So very sweet. They'll be back. Thanks for watching, it means the world x"

Baynton echoed the news on his account, tweeting: "Sam and Phil will be back #TheWrongMans"

The pair recently told Digital Spy that big-budget US series like 24, Lost and Heroes acted as inspiration for the show, which they originally devised while starring together on Gavin & Stacey.

The Wrong Mans attracted over 3 million viewers for its first episode when it debuted in September.
