"I'm delighted by BBC Drama's two wins at last night's prestigious Golden Globes in LA," said Stephenson.

"Coming out on top alongside HBO and AMC is testimony to the power and range of the BBC's drama offering."

AMC's Breaking Bad and HBO's Behind the Candelabra were among the big TV winners at the Globes, which were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

The BBC received 10 nominations in all, with Starz co-production The White Queen also in contention.
