"James and I have plotted it and are about to get stuck into writing the scripts," Baynton said.

"Sam and Phil are going to be in a lot more trouble - a lot more!"

The Wrong Mans aired on BBC Two in late 2013 to positive reviews and a series consolidated average of 3.3m viewers.

The six-part comedy thriller followed bumbling council co-workers Sam Pinkett (Mathew Baynton) and Phil Bourne (James Corden) as they became entangled in a web of crime, conspiracy and corruption.

Corden first confirmed in November that there would "definitely" be a second series.

Matthew Baynton stars in Yonderland - out now on DVD.
