ITV daytime series Auf Wiedersehen My Pet to air this month

By
ITV has announced a new 20-part series that will centre on owners as they attempt to find suitable homes for their pets.

Auf Wiedersehen My Pet will begin on March 17, airing on weekdays in the daytime.

Each hourly episode will follow one owner as they meet with three different potential new families for their pet, getting to know their lifestyles in order to help them choose the most suitable home.

The series features a range of animals all needing to be rehomed, starting with Rosie the terrier, who is struggling to get along with fellow dog Pepper - causing tensions within the household.

Other pets for the programme include Skye the horse, a lively 5-year-old horse who requires an energetic family to train her, four guinea pigs - including the geriatric Oliver - and Missy the dog, whose separation anxiety means that she needs a family with a lot of time.

A revisit episode will also be shown at the end of the week to see how all the animals have settled into their new homes.

It was also confirmed last week that Julia Bradbury will be hosting a new programme on ITV about camping around Britain's landscape.
