Sport Relief peaks with 9.53 million viewers for Only Fools and Horses

Sport Relief dominated Friday's primetime ratings, securing an average of 7.8 million viewers (34.9%) from 7-10pm.

The charity event peaked with 9.53 million viewers (41.4%) for the return of Del Boy and Rodney in Only Fools and Horses between 9.30 and 9.45pm.

Sport Relief's return at 10.35pm was seen by an average of 2.84 million (32.6%). Highlights included Andy Murray on Mock The Week, a Mastermind footballer special and Kylie Minogue performing 'I Should be So Lucky'.

Student Nurses: Bedpans and Bandages was ITV's biggest ratings success outside of soaps, scoring improved viewing figures of 3.12 million (13.9%) at 8pm.

At 9pm, the penultimate episode of Edge of Heaven was seen by 1.13 million (5%).

BBC Two kicked off the evening with 1.39 million (6.7%) for the Antiques Road Trip at 7pm. It was followed by 1.94 million (8.7%) for Mastermind at 8pm, while Gardener's World entertained 1.68 million (7%) immediately after.

An average of 3.85 million (20.5%) switched over for more Sport Relief action at 10pm.

With an average of 1.76 million (7.7%) viewers, Gogglebox was once again Channel 4's highest-rated show of the evening. Marvel: Agents of Shield ratings dropped to 920k (4%).

The Disappearance of Flight MH370 was Channel 5's biggest draw, securing ratings of 1.02 million (4.5%) at 9pm. Ice Road Truckers was viewed by 786k (3.4%) at 8pm, while NCIS: Los Angeles entertained 643k (3.6%) at 10pm.

BBC Three documentary Life on Death Row was the biggest multichannel show of the evening, with 602k (3.4%) at 10pm.
