Peaky Blinders, Broadchurch lead BAFTA TV Craft Nominations

BAFTA has announced the nominations for its annual British Academy Television Craft Awards.

BBC Two's Peaky Blinders leads the way with six nominations, including nods for Original Music and Production Design.

ITV's Broadchurch and Channel 4's Utopia were also recognised, with five and four nominations each.

Shows with three award nods include Doctor Who biopic An Adventure in Space and Time, crime dramas Luther and Top of the Lake and Sky 3D's David Attenborough's Natural History Museum Alive 3D.

Burton and Taylor, Dancing on the Edge, Da Vinci's Demons, David Bowie - Five Years, Educating Yorkshire and Top Gear all earned two nominations each.

Other programmes with nominations include Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, The X Factor, The Fall, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Ripper Street.

Competing in the 'Writer: Comedy' category are James Corden and Mathew Baynton for The Wrong Mans; Sam Bain, Jessie Armstrong and Tom Basden for Fresh Meat and Graham Linehan, who has two nominations - for The IT Crowd and Count Arthur Strong.

Competing in the 'Writer: Drama' category are Chris Chibnall for Broadchurch; Dominic Mitchell for In the Flesh; Sally Wainwright for Last Tango in Halifax; and Dennis Kelly for Utopia.

Last week, BAFTA announced that Strictly Come Dancing will receive the BAFTA Special Award at the Television Craft Awards ceremony.

This year's ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 27 and will be hosted once again by Stephen Mangan.
