Fargo launches with 1.6 million on Channel 4

Fargo debuted on Channel 4 with over 1 million viewers on Sunday, overnight data reveals.

Martin Freeman's US drama was seen by 1.6m (7.3%) at 9pm (354,000/2.1% on +1). Earlier, Philip Glenister's new series For the Love of Cars brought in 1.4m (6.0%) at 8pm (239k/1.0%).

On ITV, Endeavour's finale episode dipped by 200k to 4.5m (19.3%) at 8pm (459k/2.2%). Catchphrase entertained 3.2m (16.2%) at 6.45pm (199k/0.9%), followed by Off Their Rockers with 3.3m (15.0%) at 7.30pm (318k/1.4%).

BBC One's The Crimson Field dropped a further 600k to 4.8m (20.2%) at 9pm. Countryfile topped the night overall with 6.3m (30.1%) at 7pm, followed by Antiques Roadshow with 5.0m (21.8%) at 8pm. Match of the Day 2 scored 3.2m (21.5%) at 10.35pm.

On BBC Two, 50 Years of Golden Sport on BBC Two interested 1.2m (5.4%) at 8pm, while Dara O'Briain's All About Two attracted 1.9m (8.8%) at 9pm.

On Channel 5, martial arts film Forbidden Kingdom thrilled 934k (4.2%) at 7pm (136k/0.6%), followed by Act of Valor with 778k (3.6%) at 9pm.

BBC Three's broadcast of Toy Story 3 was seen by 1.1m (4.9%) at 8pm.
