ITV1 is reportedly developing a CGI version of Spitting Image.
Using 3-D animations of famous faces, the show will include sketches and recurring storylines, as with the original series featuring the 'rubber puppets' which ran from 1984 to 1996.
Former Spitting Image writer Henry Naylor is to head the writing team for the series.
The eight-part series is being made by ITV Productions and RedVision, with a provisional air date of next January.
