UKTV People has signed an acquisitions deal with RDF Rights for reality show Faking It.
Ordered by UKTV People and UKTV G2 channel head, Steve North, the six figure deal comprises of all five series of the original UK version of the show and three series of Faking It US.
North said: "Faking It is a compelling format that kept millions of viewers captivated when it originally broadcast both here and in the US and we are thrilled to have secured the rights for UKTV People. It fits perfectly with our new channel positioning as the number one destination for observational TV and people stories."
UKTV's acting head of programme acquisitions, Penny Harris, and RDFR's head of sales, Anne-Marie Pardoe negotiated the deal.
Based on the concept of My Fair Lady, the show takes real people out of their normal lives and gives them one month to master a new skill, which they then have to showcase in front of a panel of judges.
Originally shown on Channel 4 in the UK, the show included some notable transformations including a classical musician turning her hand to DJ-ing, and a naval officer turning into a drag queen.
The show premieres every weekday at 9pm on UKTV People from Monday June 11.
