Premier League All Stars will bring former Premiership footballers, celebrities and supporters together to represent all 20 Premier League Clubs for a charity tournament. A nationwide talent search for the fans to play in each of the teams will launch this summer.
The teams will compete for a prize fund that will be donated to charities of the winning club's choice as part of a new Premier League initiative called Creating Chances Week of Action.
This collaboration is the first of its kind for the Premier League, having previously only agreed deals with broadcasters for the rights to Premiership football.
Richard Woolfe, director of programming, Sky One, Two and Three, said: "Premier League All Stars offers the perfect mix of sports and entertainment. The combination of the best league in world football and the BAFTA award-winning North One Television guarantee a must-see event for the autumn. It’s every man’s dream to play for their favourite team and we’re going to be fulfilling those dreams with the opportunity of a lifetime and it’s all for an excellent cause."
A two-hour live programme will air each night over eight days on Sky One in September. The show replaces Endemol's The Match, which was dropped at the beginning of the year.
