The Auction Channel and Two Way TV have signed an exclusive agreement to co-develop innovative, interactive bidding services and games based on live auctions in the U.K. Viewers at home will be able to register their bids via their TV remote control while watching a live auction. They will also be able to play a range of live auction games that will be co-developed by The Auction Channel and Two Way TV.
The Auction Channel is the leading interactive content provider of live auction programming on television and the Internet. Until now, its technology has enabled home viewers to become bidders either by registering on the telephone or the Internet. This new service will transfer the ease of use viewers have enjoyed using the Internet and telephone to their televisions, taking interactive bidding to the next level.
Comments John Keeling, President of The Auction Channel, Europe; "We are at the forefront of developing entertaining, interactive technology to accommodate the swelling popular demand for live auction and collecting-related programming. By using enhanced television and the Internet, we are opening the exciting world of live auctions to a mass audience."
Simon Cornwell, Two Way TV Managing Director, adds, "This agreement demonstrates our continued commitment to developing innovative interactive content with broadcasters. Real-time bidding on TV will engage the normally passive viewer and enhance their entire viewing experience, enabling them to place a bid during the live broadcast auction at the touch of the remote control. The drama of the auction room is also the perfect setting for live real-time interactive TV games."
