The reunited girl group will work with Bob Smeaton, who wrote the Beatles' eight-part TV retrospective Anthology in the mid-nineties, on the forthcoming documentary.
Geri Halliwell said: "I think you're really going to get to know the truth behind the stories that you've heard. It's going to be honest and it's going to put the rumours to rest. You're going to see the dark side of the Spice Girls, the gritty side and the tears."
Victoria Beckham added: "There have been lots of unofficial documentaries but this is the first time that people are going to hear it from us."
