Tony Blair worried about Tate sketch

Tony Blair has admitted that he was "horrified" when he was told that he would be taking part in a Catherine Tate sketch.

According to ITN, the ex-Prime Minister was asked to re-enact the scene during a visit to a school in his former Sedgefield constituency.

"I don't think I could do it again," Blair replied. "I got up that morning and I saw this thing in the diary and I knew I was doing something for Comic Relief but I didn't know what it was.

"When I realised what I would be doing, I was completely horrified and I thought: 'I cannot do this', but she was very good. I managed to watch a DVD of her, and so I cottoned on to it. Earlier in the day I was dealing with world events and then this came up. It was strange."

Blair filmed the special sketch earlier this year. It featured Tate's character Lauren Cooper visiting 10 Downing Street and boring the politician with inane conversations - resulting in Blair using the famous "Am I bovvered?" catchphrase.
