Lionel Blair has confirmed he will be appearing in an all-star line-up for the final episode of Extras.
The veteran entertainer was personally approached show creator Ricky Gervais when he phoned him up and invited him to have a part in the show.
Famous faces that have previously appeared in Extras include Kate Winslet, Samuel L Jackson, Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
Lionel Blair admitted he was honoured to be asked on the episode which is expected to air this Christmas, saying: "I couldn't believe it when I got the call from Ricky."
But he is worried he will not be able to pull the role off and says it will be a challenge: "I'm known as always happy and always smiling but I was told I'll have to play it glum."
