'Saving Planet Earth' saves £1 million
BBC One's Saving Planet Earth has raised more than £1 million for wildlife conservation projects.

The show featured celebrities highlighting the plight of endangered species and brought in over 20 million viewers to the channel.

Viewers were asked to show support by donating to the BBC Wildlife fund. The money raised will go towards wildlife conservation projects in the UK and overseas.

A second week-long series is now planned. A follow-up programme Saving Planet Earth – Running Wild airs Monday July 9 at 7.30pm.
