David Gest dropped by ITV

David Gest's show This is David Gest has been dropped by ITV just six months after it began.

The music producer was signed to the show for a year, but show bosses were left disappointed after it only attracted two million viewers.

It has also been alleged there were a lot of backstage problems with Liza Minelli's ex-husband during filming of the show.

He was also involved in ITV flop talent show Grease is the Word as a judge alongside Sinitta, Brian Friedman and David Ian.

Programming chief at ITV Simon Shaps said: "We have no plans for David Gest. There will be no new deal and no new projects. I'm not sure what he'd do next."
