Miquita shocked by demise of 'Popworld'
Former Popworld presenter Miquita Oliver has admitted that she was shocked by the demise of the Channel 4 music show.

Oliver co-presented Popworld with Simon Amstell for five years until they stepped down as hosts in February 2006. They were replaced by Alex Zane and Alexa Chung, but the show was axed in April and its final episode aired on Saturday.

She told DS: “When I left that was sort of the end of my Popworld, so the new Popworld I never really watched that often. I kind of did my mourning already.

“Still, it’s quite a shock to think there will be no Popworld on television from now on.”
