A technical problem meant the second half of the practice last week had to go ahead without lights or props.
An audience member told the Daily Mail that the first half went down well but was followed by a long delay and slow clapping ensued.
A member of Adelphi Theatre staff then emerged to say the rest was cancelled - before returning minutes later with a better offer.
He said: "Look, we've never done anything like this before but we're going to perform the second half for you anyway, even if we have no stage or set."
The impressed onlooker added: "They had no set, no props or anything and yet still managed to put on a fantastic performance. People were on their feet at the end."
