Bobby and Jamie leave 'DanceX'
Published Monday, Jul 23 2007, 11:59 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Bobby Windebank and Jamie Meek were eliminated from DanceX this weekend after failing to be picked by either Arlene Phillips or Bruno Tonioli.
The final 16 contestants performed solo for the final time in Saturday night's episode, hoping to be chosen by either of the two judges to join their group.
After all of the performances were over, Bruno picked Phoenix, Marcquelle Ward, Daniele Arbisi, Rana Roy, Marie McGonigle, Claire Mealo, and Rebecca Leung. Meanwhile, Arlene opted for Emanuel Tabone, Daniel Uppal, Kalvin Lamley, Ashley Shaw, Camilla Hardy, Chelsey Reynolds, and Ife Kuku. The two teams will now go head-to-head in the live shows each week.
Bobby and Jamie were the two hopefuls left without groups, meaning that it was time for them to leave the competition.
"It's been absolutely brilliant," Jamie said. "It's a shame I haven't gone through but I'm going to keep dancing."
Bobby added: "I've had such a good time and want everyone to do so well."
Bruno soon showed his competitive side by revealing that he was extremely pleased with his choices: "It happened for me tonight and I got what I wanted. Commiserations Arlene."
Arlene hit back: "I love my group - they're sultry, they're sexy. Good luck Bruno - you'll have a hard time beating me."
DanceX continues on Saturday at 6.50pm on BBC One.
