New-look "Challenge?" to go interactive May 20

By
Challenge TV is to rebrand as "Challenge?" and will become interactive for Sky Digital viewers from May 20.

"The channel's new on-air and off-air look reflects the excitement and compulsion of this experience, with a new logo and on-screen idents communicating the thrill of gaming," a Flextech spokeswoman told Digital Spy.

Several programmes on the channel will become interactive, giving viewers the chance to play alongside the contestants on the screen. If a high enought total is scored, players will earn a place on the Challenge? leaderboard. Big prizes will also be won daily by the highest scorers.

The first 'play along' gameshow will be an interactive version of Defectors, launching initially on Sky Digital, with services following on digital cable later in the year.

Over the next few months more shows will be given the interactive treatment, including TV Scrabble and stand-alone arcade-style games.

To coincide with the rebrand, Challenge?'s in vision continuinity - iPlay - will be relaunch as Play On, operating from a new games room where viewers can phone in and play live games with the presenters.
