Five has made its first major acquisition from the La Screenings, taking the exclusive terrestrial and digital rights to new cop drama K-Ville.
The series, starring Anthony Anderson, Blake Shields and Tawny Cypress, is set in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans, where criminals roam the streets with AK-47s, many cops have quit and the jails are yet to be rebuilt. Martin Boulet (Anderson) is a veteran of the specialist unit that targets the most-wanted criminals and is now forced to bend the rules to collar the bad guys.

"The combination of traditional procedural crime drama set against the backdrop of post-Katrina New Orleans makes K-Ville a fascinating and engaging show," said Vanessa Brookman, controller of acquisitions at Five.
The show premieres in September in the US and will air on Five and Five US from early 2008. The broadcaster previously picked up new David Duchovny comedy Californication from cable network Showtime.
