John Craven will return to Newsround for a one-off bulletin marking the show's 30th anniversary, the BBC announced today.
Craven, who anchored the news magazine from its inception until 1989, will front a special edition on Thursday, April 4 at 5.25pm alongside its newest presenter, Becky Jago.
"Newsround is unique in the history of children’s television in being the only daily news service for this audience," said Nigel Pickard, CBBC Controller. "In its 30 year history not only has it broken a series of exclusives, but it has been the training ground for some of today’s best known television presenters. It is an integral part of CBBC and sets us apart from other children’s services."
The programme, airing on BBC One, will focus on the main news issues of the day, as well as taking a look back at 30 years of the show.
