The former Doctor Who star is going to appear in ITV2 drama Secret Diary Of A Call Girl which is based on the popular novel Belle De Jour: The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl.
Piper is playing the role of a prostitute and has been chatting to real-life professionals to get into character for the part.
She told the The Mirror: "I met high-class hookers who were very candid. I wanted to know if they get anything out of the sex...if they ever fell in love with the guys. Surprisingly, some of them did."
