BBC Three controller Danny Cohen says he wants the channel to make a Friday night entertainment show.
Cohen said at last weekend's MGEITF that he would be looking for a show in the Friday Night Live-style to showcase new talent and attract young audiences.
The BBC Three controller also told The Guardian that he hopes to have such a show on air by next year, adding: "The channel could be a bit more awake and lacks pure entertainment as part of its mix. That kind of show has been missing from the broadcasting ecology for a while."
The former E4 head is also looking at bringing more drama to the digital channel, with the writer of Hotel Babylon currently working on a pilot called The Six about a group of London teenagers. The programme is one of a number of one-off dramas being developed for BBC Three that could possibly be turned in series'.
