'The Queen' pulls in 8 million viewers

The ITV Productions film, starring Helen Mirren in the lead role for which she won an Oscar, pulled in an average 7.9 million viewers and 36% audience share over two-hours from 9pm.
The film was a clear winner in its slot, with BBC One drama Coming Down the Mountain managing 4.7 million and a 20% share at 9pm, and Channel 4's new reality show, Dumped, taking just 2.4 million viewers and a 10% share at the same time.
The royal film also beat ITV1 soap Emmerdale in the ratings, which pulled in 6.3 million and a 32% share at 7pm.
A thirtieth anniversary special of the Antiques Roadshow did better for BBC One at 8pm, managing 5.9 million viewers and a 25% audience share. It won its slot over ITV1's Britain's Favourite View, which pulled in 3.7 million and a 16% share.
Channel 4's showing of film The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring took 3 million and a 15% share over its three and quarter hour slot from 5.45pm.
