Dahl, who died 1990, was behind children's characters like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, The Twits, James and The Giant Peach and Matilda.
Over the weekend of September 22 & 23, a selection of Dahl’s classic films and TV series from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory will be shown, as well as classic episodes of his dark TV series, Tales of The Unexpected.
Two newly commissioned programmes – Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rule Book and The Unexpected Roald Dahl will also air on the digital channel.
In Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rule Book, produced by Scarlet Television, actor Richard E Grant considers eight 'laws' that govern all of Dahl's most interesting creations. Grant speaks to celebrity fans and Dahl’s collaborators, including Quentin Blake, Jo Brand, Miriam Margolyes, Heston Blumenthal, Anthony Horowitz and Michael Rosen.
ITV Productions' The Unexpected Roald Dahl takes a look at the Dahl which his readers may not be familiar with, a man who made his way through life with a mixture of 'cold calculation and whimsical fantasy.' As well as a successful author, Dahl was a fighter pilot, spy, the creator of a pioneering piece of medical equipment, as well as being husband to an Oscar winning actress and father of five. Dahl’s first wife, Patricia Neal, his widow Liccy Dahl and granddaughter, model Sophie Dahl, are among those taking part.
