Parkinson attacks chat show competition
Published Tuesday, Sep 11 2007, 09:54 BST | By Alex Fletcher

Parkinson told the Radio Times: "Mine's the last of the classic interview-based chat shows. The rest now are just comedy shows. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not what I do. So this is it. I'm done."
The TV star, who first presented his chat show in 1971 on the BBC, admitted that his programme's style may have "had its day".
The chat show host moved to ITV in 2004, and will present the final series of Parkinson before Christmas.
