Mel B declares herself 'Lady Spice'

Mel B said she is "going from Scary Spice to Lady Spice", after impressing Dancing With The Stars judges.

The Spice Girl, full name Mel Brown, is so far proving a hit on the US talent show. She performed the quickstep, which judges said was difficult, for her second appearance on the series.

Judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, both from the UK version on the show, awarded Brown eight points out of a possible ten for the effort.

Goodman commented: "You held the floor beautifully." Tonioli said her etiquette classes to improve posture had paid off: "You have the twinkle-toes of Ginger Rogers. What a makeover. It worked!"

Brown commented: "I want to show America I can be a lady. I'm going from Scary Spice to Lady Spice."

Last week she finished second and scored 24 out of 30 possible points.
