Classic children's cartoon Dennis the Menace is to be remade for CBBC.
The publisher of Beano DC Thomson is currently working on the 52-part series with animators Red Kite for broadcast in 2009.
Benjamin Gray, DC Thomson’s executive manager said: "Unlike many of our contempories we have kept Dennis true to his original naughty boy roots which are the same now as they always were. Despite it being ten years since new episodes of Dennis aired on the BBC, it has remained one of the most popular and enduring children’s characters on television and in comics and this underlines the strength and longevity of the character."
DC Thomson will reportedly be showcasing the series at Mipcom, along with two other series: Wendy, which follows the adventures of a teenage girl and her horse, and Marvo the Wonder Chicken.
