VH1 to form Spice Girls tribute band
Published Thursday, Oct 4 2007, 12:05 BST | By Nick Levine

The six episodes of Wannabe: Spice Girls will intersperse footage of the auditioning process with clips of the iconic girl group's chart-topping pop career.
A panel of industry experts and girl power specialists - Big Brother's Chanelle Hayes, Totally Boyband's Roseann McBride, the Spice Girls' former stylist Kenny Ho and the group's one-time vocal coach David Laudat - will select the members of the tribute act.
Auditions will take place in the home towns of the pop five-piece - London, Watford, Leeds and Liverpool - from October 19.
Executive producer Jeremy Davies said: "We're really looking forward to seeing the girls who grew up learning all the Spice Girls songs and iconic dance moves auditioning for our band.
"And with the team behind the Spice Girls' success on hand for advice and support we're sure our girls will do Posh, Sporty, Ginger, Scary and Baby proud!"
Wannabe: Spice Girls will premiere on November 16 on VH1.
