Fremantle pushes second 'live' Brit Awards
Published Monday, Oct 8 2007, 11:27 BST | By Joanne Oatts

The Brits, which was broadcast live last year for the first time since 1989, attracted more viewers than when it was a pre-recorded show, pulling in an audience of 5.3 million. The 2008 event will also be shown live.
FremantleMedia Enterprises chief executive David Ellender said: "In 2007 The Brit Awards were viewed in 31 countries. This shows that there is still a strong international appetite for this prestigious music event. However, we feel that this is a rather modest figure; The Brits showcase some of the world’s finest musical talent and it has potential to go further and reach a wider international audience as it evolves year on year."
