ITV has commissioned an adaptation of John O'Farrell's best-selling novel May Contain Nuts for ITV1.
The two-part Tiger Aspect comedy will star Shirley Henderson, Darren Boyd, Elizabeth Berrington and Sophie Thompson and has been created by Wallace & Gromit writer Mark Burton.
It follows a family who move to a leafy South West London community where pushy parents will stop at nothing to ensure their child gets a place at a ‘the best’ school. Filming will take place in and around London during October for transmission in 2008.
Paul Jackson, ITV’s director of comedy and entertainment said: "May Contain Nuts is a story of our times, a fun look at pushy mothers and the problems of competitive parenting. I loved John O'Farrell's book when I first read it and I loved Mark Burton's script when I read that. I now look forward to our superb cast bringing it to life for ITV."
