A new series of the squeaky piglet duo Pinky & Perky is coming to UK TV screens in 2008.
The 52-part CGI animated series is aimed at 6-11 year olds, with Pinky & Perky staging their own live children's TV show each week featuring cartoons, gunge tanks and celebrity guests.
The series has been commissioned by CBBC and France 3, and is co-produced by Pinky & Perky Enterprises, Method Films and DQ Entertainment.
Ruth Fielding, series producer at Lupus Films, which set up Pinky & Perky Enterprises, said: "The Pinky & Perky Show is loud, silly and very funny - just right for today's kids all over the world! We're very excited about the show and its international potential."
Granada International will distribute the series internationally, it was announced at Mipcom in Cannes this week, with a full launch at MIP-TV in 2008. Granada has worldwide international distribution rights - excluding the UK and France - and ITV DVD has secured home entertainment rights for a debut DVD release in 2008.
Emmanuelle Namiech, director of acquisitions and co-productions at Granada International said: "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented team of co-producers on this brand new project. The show is fun, with great characters and irreverent mad-cap stories which will have strong appeal for children - and adults - of all ages."
At the height of its popularity in the 1960s, The Pinky & Perky Show was watched regularly by more than 15million viewers.
