Duncan James has insisted that he loved sending himself up in a one-off sitcom for Channel 4.
In Plus One, he plays a boyband singer known as 'Duncan-from-Blue', who marries a girl after she dumps her boyfriend for him.
James told The Sun: "This is a great opportunity to have a go at something different and take the mickey out of myself and hopefully people will watch it and think it’s funny.
“I love the fact that everyone calls me Duncan-From-Blue on the show because that’s what people call me! They come up to me and don’t say ‘It’s Duncan James’, or ‘There’s that guy Duncan’. They come right up to my face and say ’Hi, Duncan-From-Blue’.”
The singer also revealed that acting has always been a passion, saying: "Performing is what I've been doing since I was four years old. I did all my Shakespeare and A-level theatre studies.
"I was one of those kids at school that everybody knew because I was the f***ing acting kid. I used to get bullied for it. But I didn't care - I loved it."
