BBC Two has acquired the second season of Showtime's period drama The Tudors.
The second run of ten episodes went into production earlier this year and will go out on BBC Two next year.
Controller of programme acquisitions George McGhee said: "We are extremely pleased with our viewers' positive reactions to The Tudors and have subsequently acquired series two for transmission in 2008.
"Henry VIII and his six wives are still compulsory viewing in the 21st century as portrayed by this young and excellent cast and the BBC is a great home for the series."
The series' first season, which started airing in the UK on October 5, has averaged 3.2m viewers and a 15.3% share. The viewer figure is up by more than a million over BBC Two's slot average and represents the channel's best Friday primetime share for 13 weeks.
