Streets star looks forward to TV stardom
Mike Skinner is looking forward to being a TV star when his show Beat Stevie airs for the first time tonight.

The programme features footage shot by the Streets frontman and his bandmates while on tour, in the studio and relaxing at their local pub.

It also includes appearances from label mates Hard-Fi, Kate Nash, Just Jack, Zane Lowe and Plan B.

The rapper wrote on his blog: "So Beat Stevie is off and running. Had a really good meeting with the kind people down at Channel 4 and even though their beautiful lawyer seemed slightly concerned about Roland's colourful use of shock comedy and our tour bus-based hallucinogen consumption, they have given us the go ahead for a few late night showings.

"Me and [Ted] Mayhem are going to be stars. The world is our oyster. People will recognise me in the street. I'll sign autographs and be attractive to the opposite sex."

He urged fans to watch the show, joking: "Then when you see me in the street don't bother me, I need my privacy. I'm an artist like Keira Knightley."

Beat Stevie airs tonight at 12:35am on Channel 4.
