Five and Cartoon Network have bought the rights to Fireman Sam - including the new CGI version - after the series spent 16 years at the BBC.
Five has acquired five series and a 20-minute special, consisting of a mixture of existing episodes and the new version, from Hit Entertainment. They will air in its pre-school Milkshake! block from the spring.
Cartoon Network channel Cartoonito has taken rights to three series including the two forthcoming high-definition CGI runs.
Hit vice-president of TV distribution Marie Chappelow said the change "ushered in a new era for Fireman Sam".
Cecilia Persson, Cartoon Network's vice-president of programming, acquisitions and presentation, commented: "Fireman Sam is a fantastic show and we are particularly looking forward to premiering the new high definition CGI versions which bring a great new look and feel to the series."
Hit bought out Welsh producer S4C's 50 per cent stake in the show in March; in September, it announced it was teaming up with Hibbert Ralph Animation for a CGI version.
