Virgin1 has commissioned documentary Death Row Dogs for its primetime lineup.
The one-off 50 minute show will look at the seizures and destruction of dangerous dogs.
It will follow wardens and police trying to get rid of dangerous dogs and owners defending their animals from being destroyed.
It will be produced by Raw TV and was commissioned by senior commissioning editor Lucy Pilkington. Lucy Willis will executive produce for Raw TV.
Virgin 1 director of programming Celia Taylor said: "Death Row Dogs is the latest in a raft of Virgin 1 commissions which breaks new ground in original factual entertainment programming.
"With over 3,000 people bitten in the UK each year, this topical documentary will explore the challenges faced by the authorities and owners of dangerous dogs and will make uncomfortable viewing for the UK’s huge population of dog lovers.
"It promises to have all the ingredients for an unmissable show.”
