Nigella Lawson criticised for weight gain

Nigella Lawson

Fans of Nigella Lawson have complained that she is putting on weight in TV series Nigella Express.

Viewers have posted messages on the BBC's Points of View website accusing the 47-year-old of piling on the pounds as she whips up high-calorie recipes.

They have complained that the star has visibly gained weight since the opening episode, with last week's show revealing a pot belly.

One poster is quoted in the Daily Mail as writing: "There's no beating about the bush - she's a porker. And no wonder, when she was shovelling those candies down her neck the other night - before she got to her destination for dinner. What sort of an example is she with her weight and her appetite for high-calorie sweets and cream?"

The BBC2 series has seen Lawson prepare rocky road marshmallow crunch bars, doughnut French bread, buttermilk chicken drumsticks, fried lamb chops and caramel croissants.
