Fielding to guest captain on 'Buzzcocks'

Noel Fielding has been named as the temporary replacement for Bill Bailey as a team captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

The music quiz show, which is preparing for its 21st series, will have Fielding in the team captain's chair for the first three episodes.

Simon Amstell will return as host, while comedian Phil Jupitus also returns as a team captain.

Speaking about his appointment, Fielding said: "When Bill asked me to cover for him as team captain on Buzzcocks I was delighted to be his first choice.

"Only after I agreed to do it did I realise that I was actually 104th on the list behind Andrew, his long-eared rabbit. Although, to be fair, Andrew is on fire at the moment."

The Mighty Boosh star has appeared in the programme as a guest once before.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks returns to BBC Two in November.
