Seven British broadcasters won awards at the 2007 International Emmys in New York last night.

Stephen Fry was one of the big winners, taking home the best documentary gong for his programme The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive.

The best actor award was shared by Jim Broadbent, for his role in Jimmy McGovern's The Street, which also picked up the best drama award.

The More4 show Death of a President, which documented the fictional assassination of George Bush, took home the best TV Movie or mini-series.

Simon Schama's Power of Art took the arts programming title for an episode based around the 17th century sculptor Bernini.

Other UK winners were Little Britain Abroad, which won best comedy, and the BBC talent show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, which bagged the best non-scripted entertainment award.
