Harry Potter author JK Rowling has returned to the Edinburgh flat where she penned the best-selling novels.
The writer was choked with emotion when she paid a visit to her former home as part of new documentary JK Rowling... A Year in the Life.
Walking into the lounge, she said: "This is really the room where I finished Philosopher's Stone, here. This is really where I turned my life around completely. My life really changed in this flat."
She was stunned to find that the property's new owners had displayed copies of her novels on their bookshelves, saying: "For years now, I've felt that if it all disappeared - and some days I do feel like, 'Is it real?' - then this is where I'd come back to.
"And if I'd known that 10 years on I'd come back with a film crew and there'd be my published books on someone else's bookcases in this room - that is really incredible to me."
The camera crew followed Rowling as she completed and launched the final book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
JK Rowling... A Year in the Life airs at 7pm on December 30 on ITV.
