Virgin 1 has added to its library of human interest documentaries by acquiring two films from Off the Fence looking at Extraordinary Humans.
The first, which will air in primetime next month, is titled Obesity and "will explore the extraordinary bodies of some people who fall into the stratospheric weight class known as 'morbidly obese'."
The programme will investigate, using animation, what differences exist internally between extremely overweight people and those of a more "normal" size.
The second film, Dwarfism, will go inside the bodies of dwarfs "to unlock the secrets of their unique design and see what makes these humans truly extraordinary".
Virgin 1's head of acquisitions Amy Barham said: "With Extraordinary Humans, we're offering our viewers a chance to understand their bodies and the bodies of others, in a way that is both fresh and informative."
