Popular children's show Catweazle is in line to make a TV comeback.

The series ran on ITV for two seasons in the 1970s and was a huge hit in the UK, Germany, Australia and Norway.

It featured Geoffrey Bayldon as an 11th Century wizard who accidentally travels through time to 1970 and attempts to return home with the help of two boys.

The Mirror reports that producer Paul Knight is planning to make a new version of the programme, although the project is still at an early stage.

Knight previously produced Black Beauty, Dick Turpin, Robin Of Sherwood and London's Burning.
