Her Pretty Matches production company has joined forces with Magical Elves, the firm behind hit series Top Chef and Project Runway.
Creator Dan Cutforth insisted that a show about art can work, saying: "Art is a much more inclusive world than people think. We really feel there's a way to show people how much they care about art in the same way Project Runway showed people how much they care about clothes."
The programme will see 12 contestants battle it out in challenges across a variety of disciplines, with their efforts judged by a panel of top art critics.
The eventual winner will receive a cash sum, a gallery show and a sponsored tour around the US.
Parker may make an appearance in front of the camera on the as-yet untitled show, which will air on the Bravo network.
The actress recently wrapped filming on the Sex And The City movie.
