La Plante hints at 'Prime Suspect' return
Prime Suspect creator Lynda La Plante has revealed that she can envisage a new series.

ITV aired the sixth instalment of the show in October 2006 and has said it will not make a TV version of her final book.

However, La Plante said she believes there is still potential for another programme, telling The Mirror: "From the ending of the 'final' episode, the way Tennison looked over her shoulder at the police station... I thought, 'she's going to come back'."

Helen Mirren has admitted that she does not want to close the door on the BAFTA Award-winning show, saying: "There's something, I can't explain what, that stops me ruling it out."
