'Rivals' champ to sing 'Idol' winner's song

The eight-part drama series, centered around an X Factor-style singing contest, will end with a showdown between two young pop hopefuls.
In an innovative dramatic twist, the winner of the fictionalised reality show, and thus the ending of the drama series, will be chosen by ITV1 viewers.
The show's "champion" will go on to sing 'Angels Brought Me Here', originally recorded by 2003 Australian Idol champion Guy Sebastian.
Simon Cowell, who gave up his Rock Rivals consultancy role after storylines apparently became too "outlandish", helped to choose the song.
Executive producer Brian Park told Broadcast that Cowell could be tempted to offer the Rock Rivals champion a record deal if the series proves popular with viewers.
However, several of the actors playing Rock Rivals singing hopefuls did not perform their own vocals, instead preferring to lip-sync to performances recorded by a professional singer.
