Cox spoofs Hilton, Richie in 'Dirt'

Courteney Cox has based a character in her TV show Dirt on socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

The actress, who acts as executive producer on the FX drama, was inspired to create party-loving Milan Carlton after reading about the pair's latest exploits.

The character is booked for driving the wrong way on a freeway in the first episode of the second season, spoofing Richie's 2006 arrest.

She also leads photographers on a car chase through LA, a regular occurrence in the life of Britney Spears.

Cox, who plays the editor of a celebrity magazine, is quoted as saying: "You're gonna be able to identify these characters pretty easily.

"We're just poking fun and hopefully no one will get their feelings hurt."

Cox recently defended her decision to base a storyline on Spears's recent troubles.
